GSA vehicle auctions can be a great way to find a great deal on a great car
GSA vehicle auctions are a risk-free way to finding cheap cars that are in great shape. These fleet vehicles are usually low mileage cars and trucks that have been maintained according to manufacturer's recommendations including all scheduled maintenance like routine oil changes. The GSA (U.S. General Services Administration) currently auctions off about 35,000 vehicles per year. They lease vehicles and at the end of the lease (usually 3-5 years) they sell the vehicles in order to help finance future fleet purchases. If you want to buy an imported car, you won't have any luck at these auctions. All cars are American made. These vehicles are only sold at auction sites specified by the GSA. There are no online sales of these vehicles directly from the GSA. This is a good source for finding police cars, ambulances, busses, tractors, wreckers along with other specialized vehicles that include heavy equipment and maintenance utility vehicles. You can work through the process of buying direct from the GSA by going to www.autoauctions.gsa.gov or there are many companies that can help guide you through the process for a fee. And, of course, there are other places to look for car auction deals other than with GSA vehicle auctions. |
